Kolkata : Union Bank of India today launched the Cybersecurity Awareness Kit and inaugurated an automated Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing (VAPT) lab at its Cybersecurity Center of Excellence in Hyderabad. The objective of this initiative is to raise the awareness of its employees, customers and other stakeholders about cybersecurity.

The event was called by Shri. KM Reddy, Chief Information Security Officer, Union Bank of India.

The launch event was attended by Shri Rajkiran Rai G, MD & CEO, Union Bank of India, Chief Guest Shri Narendra Nath G, Joint Secretary, National Security Council Secretariat – Government of India, Smt. PR Lakshmi Eswari, Director-CDAC, Hyderabad & Executive Directors of Union Bank of India – Sh. Gopal Singh Gusain, Sh. Nitesh Ranjan & Sh. Rajneesh Karnatak.

The kit includes a multilingual pocket book and a Cybersecurity Awareness Calendar for 2022 among others. of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, also launched a “Union Shield” e-book on cybersecurity awareness for all stakeholders. in 6 languages.

Commenting on the event, Shri Rajkiran Rai G, MD and CEO of Union Bank of India said: “This is an important milestone as we continue our cybersecurity journey. With this launch, we have taken another step towards securing the digital banking experience. Moreover, with the creation of the VAPT laboratory, the Bank can carry out the security tests of any new product very quickly and deployment can be possible very quickly.

Union Bank of India has established a Cyber ​​Security Center of Excellence (CCOE) in Hyderabad to enhance the bank’s cyber security activities, including providing cyber security awareness training and workshops to all its employees, vendors and clients. The VAPT laboratory is part of the CCOE.

Recently, Union Bank of India (CCOE) and CDAC-Hyderabad, through a Memorandum of Understanding, have become partners to provide cyber security awareness to various groups in the bank such as employees of all executives, suppliers and customers. CDAC is the Bank’s knowledge partner in this adventure. CDAC has contributed to the publication of Cyber ​​Security Awareness eBook (Union Shield) in six Indian languages ​​for the benefit of all stakeholders.
