Mumbai, October 1, 2022: Union Bank of India today launched 9 Learning and Development Centers of Excellence (CoEs) dubbed Union Learning Academies (ULAs). The academies were launched today by Mrs. A. Manimekhalai, MD & CEO, in Mumbai under the initiative of Union Prerna, the famous HR transformation project of the Bank. The launch event was attended by all the dignitaries of the bank including the Executive Directors Shri Nitesh Ranjan, Shri Rajneesh Karnatak and Shri NidhuSaxena.
The project focuses on redesigning the existing learning and development (L&D) ecosystem to develop a future-ready talent pool with skill sets that complement the bank’s vision and to make learning more inclusive, innovative and inspiring. To achieve this goal, these ULAs will focus on specialist areas such as leadership development, business, credit, risk management, strategy, agri-finance, sales and marketing, operations and scanning. The Bank has strategically ensured to establish these pan-India CoEs in Bangalore, Mangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Lucknow and Gurgaon.
At the launch event, Ms. Manimekhalai stressed the importance of having the best skills in the industry among all trade unionists. She congratulated all ULA teams for embarking on this journey of creating the academies. She also congratulated everyone on Union Bank of India’s success in crossing the 18 million crore mark today.
With the vision of transforming Union Bank of India into a lifelong learning organization, ULAs will deliver industry-leading skills training through dedicated and specialized internal and external trainers. The ULAs will also partner with other institutes to provide state-of-the-art training with the latest methodologies as well as a strong pool of certifications for Bank employees.
