SELCO Community Credit Union set to open branch north of Redmond

REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) – SELCO Community Credit Union is doubling down on its commitment to serving its members in the growing Redmond market, with the May 9 opening of a new stand-alone North Redmond branch at 255 NW Oak Tree Lane, immediately north of the Walmart Supercentre.

SELCO also operates a second independent branch in Redmond, which opened in 2007, at 825 SW 17th St.

The new location replaces the former limited-service branch of SELCO, which operated from 2009 to 2020 inside Walmart, addresses a growing need for expanded banking services in the Redmond area and beyond, and makes SELCO the only credit union with multiple branches in Redmond.

“It’s no secret that Redmond is growing fast. But our community, along with the northern counties of Deschutes, Crook and Jefferson, has been largely underserved when it comes to banking institutions,” says Tim Dizney, director of SELCO’s new site in Redmond. “We’ve seen other banks and credit unions come and go over the years, but SELCO remains committed to the community we’ve had the honor of serving for the past 15 years.”

As retail banking continues to evolve into digital services, there is still a strong need to bring the personal touch of a traditional brick-and-mortar location. Here are some highlights of the new branch:

  • 24-hour ATMs
  • Two lanes of traffic
  • Teller services for traditional transactions
  • Member service representatives to help with everything from opening accounts and loans to setting up digital banking
  • Investment and retirement, insurance and mortgage representatives available by appointment
  • Branch hours: Monday to Thursday 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Drive-up hours: Monday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

To celebrate the branch opening, as well as SELCO’s 15th anniversary of serving members in the greater Redmond area, an open house is planned for the week of May 9-13 with daily prizes, restaurant snacks and local bakeries, branch tours, a featured nonprofit community partners, and more.

Each day, the Open House will recognize a different community partner supported by SELCO, including the Redmond Chamber of Commerce (May 9; ribbon cutting at 4 p.m.), Jericho Road (May 10), NeighborImpact (May 11), KIDS Center (May 12) and J Bar J Youth Services (May 13).

“In Redmond, in particular, we know how important in-person banking is to many of our members, which is why SELCO is expanding its presence at a time when other institutions are reducing in-person services or closing altogether. branches,” says Dizney. “These are the same members we see at the grocery store, at soccer practice and at the park. They are our neighbours, and we owe it to them to provide the banking tools and services they need, including the new SELCO branch in North Redmond.
