Avila Naturalle MD Honors First Bank and Union Bank Events for International Women’s Day Celebration

“For me, breaking prejudice means occupying a different/new space without fear but with absolute trust in God and courage.” – Ms. Mayegun

TOPE Mayegun, Founder/CEO of Avila Naturalle, one of the leading organizations nestled in Alimosho, recently graced the First Bank Women’s Network event in commemoration of the International Women’s Day celebration which was celebrated Tuesday, March 8, 2022.

While giving her thoughts on the event labeled ‘Break the Bias’, Ms Mayegun claimed that “For me, breaking bias means occupying a different/new space without fear but with absolute trust in God and courage.”

She also mentioned that one of the highlights of the event is the art painting which she reiterated is another way to encourage a spirit of self-sufficiency and independence among the women.

“One of the fun things that was introduced at this event was art painting. For me, this is my first time engaging in this type of play activity, and then I realized that it’s another way to show women that we can do what we set out to do in our hearts, no matter the obstacles,” she said.

Similarly, Ms. Mayegun also graced Union Bank’s Alpha Women event titled “Breaking Biases, Shattering Barriers”.

The event showcased success stories of Nigerian women who are pioneers in their respective fields.

One such woman is Dr. Abimbola Abolarinwa who is believed to be the first female urologist in Nigeria.

Dr. Abolarinwa shared how she was able to achieve her goal of being the best in a field that was previously dominated by men. She also shared some tips for women attending the event on how to succeed in their chosen field.
